Crawfish (also called crayfish) are small, freshwater crustaceans the look like tiny lobsters. I spent most of a camping trip trying to catch one so that I could see it up close. If you want to catch a crawfish, try looking under rocks in shallow water. They swim backwards using their tails to propel them, so it’s helpful to have a net because they are FAST! Be careful because their claws have a tiny point like a needle. Getting pinched by a crawfish won’t cause a serious injury, but it does sting a bit!
